What to do in Matalascañas in spring?
Spring has already arrived and the landscape is renewed, the afternoons begin to be longer and the warm temperature (still without the suffocating heat of summer) invites you to walk, stroll or take group excursions. And, how about the beach? Who doesn't like walking on the sand?
We suggest you visit Matalascañas this spring, one of the most beautiful beaches in our geography. And although it is not bathing season, there are other things you can do to enjoy this incredible place in Huelva.
Things to do in Matalascañas in spring
Visit the Doñana National Park
It is the place par excellence of the Iberian lynx, and one of the most important natural parks in our country. The visit is always guided and is carried out in an SUV: the routes begin at the El Acebuche and Aldea del Rocío Visitor Reception Center. It can be visited at any time of the year, so if you already have a plan for this spring, we recommend it.
Take a walk through the Dunar Park of Matalascañas
It is approximately 130 hectares of dunes that run along the coast from Matalascañas to Mazagón. There is a network of trails that allows you to explore the dune park and see the vegetation in the area very easily and without detriment to the ecosystem.
Walk next to the Fig Tree Tower and remember its history
Walk along Matalascañas beach and let yourself be invaded by a bit of history. When you see the Torre de la Higuera, think about the fact that it was one of the five beacon towers that were built in this area of Huelva to warn of Berber invasions. Today only the inclined upper part of one of them remains, and it is believed that it was destroyed by the Lisbon earthquake of 1755.
That? Have we convinced you? Come this spring to Matalascañas and enjoy a privileged place in the world.
