Visit to the Monument to Columbus or the Discovering Faith
The Columbus Monument or Monument to the Discovery Faith, with its 37 meters high, is one of the most representative symbols of the city of Huelva. The "Punta del Sebo" was the place chosen by the sculptor and designer Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney to erect this great colossus, a donation from the Columbus Memorial Fund. Inc.
The construction work was carried out between 1927 and 1929, and it was inaugurated on April 21, with the presence of senior international officials. Through an initiative of the Provincial Delegation of Culture and the Port Authority, it will remain open to the public free of charge every Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with a guided tour at 11:00 a.m.
Likewise, anyone who wishes can contact us to arrange a private visit.
Organized by Platalea.
Every Saturday of the month from 10 am to 1 pm and the guided tour at 11 am.
