Matalascañas, a perfect place to spend your vacation
In case you don't know, in the past, Matalascañas was called Torre de la Higuera. It received its name from a beacon tower that was on the beach. What's more, you can still see its remains in the sea water today.

This tower was a watchtower from which a fire was lit to warn of possible attacks by the Berbers. It is said that its demolition was caused by the Lisbon earthquake of 1755.
