Discover Doñana in three different ways
Very close to Matalascañas, and very close to our hotel, we found a wonderful corner where it is very easy and fantastic to get lost: we are talking about Doñana Park, a place where you can merge with nature in any way you want.
Getting to know Doñana is getting lost in its trails, seeing its viewpoints or discovering its fauna and flora in three different ways.
One of the characteristics of Doñana Park is that it is between 2 continents and close to where the Atlantic and the Mediterranean meet, the Strait of Gibraltar. In Doñana you can see more than 300 different species of birds throughout the year, as it is a place of passage, breeding and wintering for thousands of them (aquatic and terrestrial), European and African.
Since 1994 it has been a World Heritage Site, and it is the eleventh national park in Spain in number of visitors.
Doñana on horseback
You can ride horses along the trails throughout the Park, with routes where you can discover all the beauty of this Huelva paradise. There are companies that organize these routes in which you will be accompanied by a monitor at all times.
Doñana by boat
Well yes, you can also discover Doñana by boat. From Sanlúcar de Barrameda you will arrive on a 13 km trip to this wonderful place. During the trip you will make several stops and you will be able to see the aquatic birds that populate Doñana.
On foot
Naturally, walking tours are a must if you want to get to know this natural corner, one of the most beautiful on the entire planet. There are many routes and trails that you can continue walking and get lost and disconnect. And if you're lucky, you can still see the Iberian lynx.
